I seriously doubt those figures but good on them for putting the effort into something they believed was worthwhile. I'd imagine though that Amazon's sales might be down because of price even if profit isn't - even Argos is cheaper for a lot of stuff right now.

Amazon doesn't actually make much profit compared to it's turnover. It never has. It seems to operate by attracting capital on the premise that at some point in the future it will start making massive profits but I've yet to see any reasonable plan as to how that will happen.
