Plenty of things became extinct long before the first hominid set foot upon the planet. Not that we haven't messed things up and a lot of species are extinct because of us but we're not the exclusive cause of death & destruction in the universe. Nature herself can be a right bitch at times.

I agree totally. But the first two seem to be almost exclusively caused by humans being able to travel around the world and their ability to "cultivate" large swathes of land or bury it under concrete.
