I remember that episode well and how frustrating it was not to be able to communicate, with no frames of reference. But even then it was easier because the some of the words were recognisable ("and", "at").

Even yjt wiovl ntpem gpc kizqrf pbrt yjt asxu fph could be deciphered because I was using latin script. Imagine if I'd written that using symbols and no spacing.
