	Quote: Proposed cuts would see 190 Essex police community support officer (PCSO) jobs disappear and 15 police stations close their public counters in April. Essex Police said it had to find £63m savings to its annual budget of £262m. PCSO numbers would be reduced from 250 to 60, while the number of stations where the public can walk in would drop from 25 to 10.

If you look at where the font counters are being closed, and where they are being retained, you’ll see that areas won’t have coverage that is needed. For example, Witham is closing its front desk, and the closest stations will be Braintree or Chelmsford - both train or bus rides away.

The maps shows where the remaining open desks will be.

It also looks like you should avoid needing to go to Saffron Walden and Maldon at the weekend as well because obviously the criminals need time off too :roll:

I was under the impression that when you need them, the police are meant to come to where you are.
