Doesn't excuse it, but I imagine going to see your MP is a last resort and you're already going off at the deep end.

As has been mentioned elsewhere in relation to this article it would be interesting to know how the stats compare with other civil servants, and the emergency services.
I guess there's a higher likelihood that an MPs address is going to be in the public domain so they are more like to be door stepped by a nut job but then they should be relying on the excellent anti-stalking legislation we have
