The English version seems to miss out a lot of what is said in German, especially the bit about having hurt other people, that is taken completely out of context!
It sounds like they just ran it through Google Translate, which is always a VERY bad idea! It often delivers contradictory translations, when not downright dangerous!
What he actually wrote is fairly moving and understandable, but unfortunately for the Daily Fail, not very sensational.
He wrote:
I herewith remove myself from life.
I had a good life, but it was also plagued with illness. The last one was invicible. I met a wonderful woman and loved her, together we had a son, who is good and I have been blessed with 2 fantastic grandchildren.
I had wanted to spend more time together with Hiltrud, but that didn't work out. Even so, a good life. I would like to thank my few friends, who accompanied me on and off on my journey. They will now be there for Hiltrud and Dirk. Special thanks to Birgit and Hans, to Eva and all who not named here, but who know who they are. There aren't many.
Thanks also to my Turkish friend, Mustafa - who gave me insight into his family culture (which always remained partly strange to me), which wasn't always free of pain. But he was honest to me. And openess and honesty were always very important to me. I know that I have caused some pain through this, but that was good so.
A final word: I was a convinced aethiest and I remain one!
Also, for my depature celebration on Saturday 2nd August 2016 in Rufeforst Loshheim-Britten at 11 o'clock, no mourning outfits, no crosses or other open or hidden regious symbols. For flowers, if you must, please just yellow or orange lillies with no strong scent.
Monetary donations to the Trier Hospice (bank A/c number)
I forbid the other 5 children of my parents, their partners and offspring to take part in this celebration. You are univited!
-- Hello Cat, if there is a life after this one, then I will ask you there again for your hand and your love. I will also wait. Your Tomcat.
