'There is no plan' for Brexit, leaked memo says:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-37983948

Quote:
The memo also suggests the government does not have enough officials to implement Brexit quickly, while departments are developing individual plans resulting in "well over 500 projects".
It estimates an additional 30,000 extra civil servants could be required to meet the workload.

30,000 extra staff, are you f*****g kidding me?

About to post that... The only surprise is that this story appeared so quickly, though down the line leaking will be second nature to a cabinet including the likes of Boris, Fox, and May herself.

Hmmm, 30k seems like a rather large number. That's just under three quarters of the number of people employed directly by the EU (commission, executive and parliament).
I mean, I know that job creation is a goal of leaving but this seems a bit bonkers (if it's actually true, which is by no means certain).

It's not just a case of signing a bit of paper and we're done. This is the government we're talking about so it doesn't surprise me in the least if it would take 30k people to sort it all out.

Course they've sacked/made redundant something like 30,000 civil servants in the last 6 years...

Well the government are now saying the leaked memo is nothing to do with them and no plans for 30,000 new jobs
