I've always thought if being cryogenically frozen, it needs to happen whilst you're alive, otherwise when they "defrost" you, you'll still be a corpse.

You're frozen very soon after death, so the assumption is in hundreds of years the super advanced medicine will be able to resuscitate you THEN cure whatever killed you in the present. Seems a big assumption to me, but people get to do what they get to do.

IIRC the ones on Star Trek were actual in an orbiting satellite as it was considered less prone to brown/black-outs caused by problems with domestic power grids.
There's also the rather interesting issue of what happens in the event the company goes bankrupt - do the human popsicles get treated as income generating assets that can be sold off?
