Password was changed after the October breach was disclosed. There's no need to change again as this breach was prior to that one. Two-step authentication is also enabled.

It’s not so much the need (or not) to change the password, more a need to ensure that when there is a breach, it’s spotted and reported in a timely fashion, and not over three years later. If 1 billion records are being sloughed off, you’d think that the bandwidth spike and logs would indicate something odd is going on, and you’d investigate.

That is the problem, because they sat on the information for years, they show their disdain for their users.
Most of the press seems to be calling for people to close their accounts.
My daughters and wife closed their accounts after the last fiasco - and for 2 of them it was their primary mail account.
I still have mine, purely because of Flikr, I never used the email address. But I'm seriously considering closing the account. I haven't posted anything new for a looong time.

'Sake. Even if you tell them to terminate your account they say it'll take 90 days to do it. That's chuffing appalling.

One reason why I never use my real details for signing up to free things. For online registration I use a fake name and my birthday is always the 1st of January.
