all overseas aid needs to be stopped the only aid that should be given is for major disasters ...

That is a bit to harsh

You need to determine what aid is for

Disaster relief
Education
Economic assistance
PR for the home nation
Sweeteners for other projects (i.e. we will give you £X aid if you let one of our companies win the next arms contract)



Actually funding a pop group in a country where there is a big disparity in opportunities/ education between the sexes is not that bad an idea (if you assume aid should also be used for education) as the message will reach the “yuf”

BUT – the amount seems totally excessive and why not make it a loan – if they don’t do well then write it off after X years and if they do and can replay then that’s more funding for other projects
