Record numbers of patients are facing long waits in A&Es as documents leaked to the BBC show the full extent of the winter crisis in the NHS in England.

Nearly a quarter of patients waited longer than four hours in A&E last week, with just one hospital hitting its target.

Meanwhile, in the government, ministers are putting their fingers in their ears and going “la la la can’t hear you”.:

Ministers have denied this is the case, with Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt saying on Monday the health service was coping well given the increasing demands.

Please tell me that this is the sequel to W1A, and is not real.

SOP for any and all nationalised institutions that previous Govts. have used is to under-fund with finance and front line staff but over-fund, via change, layers of management and administration therefore making a recipe that will develop into a disaster which will lead to ... privatisation.

there are options.

remove the NHS from any political control. sadly wont happen.

ensure the NHS is only used for those that pay for it. sadly massive resistance

a complete restructure of the NHS. which will sadly lead to privatisation.

as i have stated before there are hard decisions to be made you just have to decide how hard if you wish to keep the NHS ...

Almost certainly real. And stuffed with management consultants being hired from PWC or the like at a pay rate considerably higher than we pay anybody at the sharp end...
