I remember watching him on TV in the past - he was great - certainly the reason I’d be watching
Food and Drink when he was a regular on that show. He always managed to make food that looked appetising but not too poncey.
His restaurants are good too. A Carluccios opened up here at the beginning of the year, and it’s been a regular haunt. We’ve had a couple of large meals there, as well as a few drop ins for lunch or a snack. Last time we went, it was our wedding anniversary, and when we left they gave us some chocolates and a tin of their thick chocolate drink to take home. My wife, who comes from an Italian family of restauranteurs (grand parents ran various hotels and restaurants), says that they’re doing it properly.
His Wikipedia page was a bit odd yesterday.
