It would be nice though if it did.

Given the Government's record when it comes to taxpayers' money, it's best that it doesn't.

I would rather see it used to reduce the deficit rather than expand government spending. Government departments need to be a lot more efficient.

Some government departments are already running on skin and bone. For starters the Justice system in this Country is creaking at the sides from underfunding.

Yes I am thinking of more cuts at the very centre. No more buying works of art at NHS trusts or government departments. Ask the Tax Payers Alliance they have loads of examples of waste.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what the Taxpayers' Alliance print.

I am not saying that they have all the right answers. Though there are examples of wasted spending, just look at defence procurement. I do not want to see any cuts in front line services.

Germany could raise 100bn euros (£91bn) if the richest people paid a 5% wealth tax for two years, they say.

The petition has 44 signatories so far . . .

I guess if those 44 people each earn £910bn a year then it is true. That would make them very rich people indeed.

It is a wealth tax not an income tax.

*Wikis*

Ah. Let me correct myself:

I guess if those 44 people each possess £500bn then it is true. That would make them very rich people indeed.

I doubt that it will be just those 44 people. I do think that it is very altruistic of them. Good for them.
