Maybe they thought that fairy cakes was homophobic?

Yes, but who are "they"? The same people who ban Christmas decorations in case it offends Muslims?

People who take offence on behalf of other people and spoil everyone's day offend me.

8-)

Not just Muslims. Frankie Boyle did a lovely skit on Fairy Lights been banned because they might offend Homosexuals. They are now to be called Poof Lanterns. :D :D

Though I am not very PC so will still call them fairy cakes and fairy lights.

I dunno about the taxonomy of small cakes but I do know they seem to be suddenly fashionable. I go to farmer's markets regularly and quite a few of them have suddenly acquired people selling handmade 'cupcakes' as well as the normal bakers.

I stand corrected about the fairy/butterfly cake thing. FWIW I think I was getting them mixed up.
They're all good though!

This thread has reminded me that I keep meaning to try my hand at Lemon Drizzle Cup Cakes.

I already make, (possibly) the best Lemon Drizzle cake in the world, but I want to see how it would transfer to a smaller size, with a few "interesting additions"

Do any of these cakes contain Class A drugs? If so can I order some? ;)
