On Saturday, environmental campaigners, aid agencies, trade unions and organisations including the Women's Institute are expected to take part in the so-called Wave protest in London.

A rally will take place close to the American embassy in Grosvenor Square at 1200 GMT, followed by a march to the Houses of Parliament.

At Westminster Central Hall an ecumenical service will also be held, featuring an address by Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams.
