Nvidia have got ATi to worry about. Still waiting on those DX11 cards.

Having seen the 5870's DX11 performance in Dirt 2 and the currently supply problems, they won't be worrying that much.

Yes, current supply problems - it's always a bad thing when demand is so high it's hard to keep up.

It's a DX11 card that struggles with DX11 - an allegedly more efficient API - the demand isn't going to be that high... Clicky

They're sold out, everywhere. Demand is very high.

to add oil to the fire.. if supply is lw then it wont be hard to be sold out and thus give the impression of high demand.

CF: whatever bit of NIntendo kit is popular any given christmas. Can't be had at all, massive blah blah, stories on the 6 O'clock news, free publicity etc etc. One week after christmas - shelves are stuffed with 'em. Happens far too often to be a coincidence. Jon

But in the case of ATi it's actually true this time, the 40nm wafer yield is down to 60% and was down to 20% earlier this year clicky. It'll also be a reason that we won't see a huge batch of GT300 nvidia chips due for December. I'm not sure what scale Nintendo use but I doubt it's 40nm.

Hmmm, I smell the whiff of poor benchmark results from Larrabee.

Or any toy that's made in China that has it's own TV show or film My first experience of that was the Ninja Turtles figures when I was a kid...

Given that their DX11 parts will also be made on the same process, they do have a lot to worry about.
