Perhaps I can illustrate my point better with, well an illustration.

But doesn't that match virtually everything about this gadget-obsessed world we've created? How many purchasers of X-Boxes, Wiis, Playstations, 50in plasma tellies, and BMWs fall into the self-same category in which you're accusing iPhone users of being?

You are spot on, I however feel there is something more insidious about apple products than most (not all) others and combined with my observations of the way people flaunt them I think it is indicative of much that is wrong in this society or maybe I'm just dissatisfied with my Christmas presents.

Or perhaps some people like to show well-designed things? Who wouldn't want to flaunt an Aston Martin if they had one?

I think it's human nature to show off something that's nice. Then again, it makes it easier to steal.

;)

My only problem with people buying Apple kit is that some of them think they're almost obliged to for whatever personal reason, or think that just because it costs more compared to something that would do the job as easily as they needed/wanted it to, that that's the way to go... It reminds me of those people that 'only bought Sony TVs' etc.

Christ, I guess I'm saying it's about perception for a some people, even if they don't realise it
