I think it's quite funny, reminds me of a story about an asian man claiming he was going to jump then being pushed by a member of the public calling him selfish, that is all suicide of that nature is, selfish

Considering that the woman could not hear the song, but many of the people stuck in traffic might have, I'm sorry but I think it's funny.
Suicide should be a private matter. Holding up the motorway for an entire day is attention seeking, and she didn't even fall that far. It would have been much more civilised to jump off a cliff and been washed out to sea, where you would be recycled into dolphin-friendly tuna sandwiches.

To contemplate suicide you have a mental illness, so being selfish doesn't really come into it.

The DJ could have not known at the time if the woman was genuine (ill, mental, etc) or attention seeking (although you could argue if it wasnt attention seeking you might just jump and not hang around) but given that he knew nothing I think the song is in bad taste.

True enough. However the DJ playing "Jump" wasn't inappropriate IMO - it was funny. It may be an unfortunate phrasing but MIND need to get a grip.

I am very much reminded of this classic bit of 60's comedy. Note : incredibly NSFW. Jon
