great, so now I will have to take up the slack for men who have children as well as women and will also start wining that they are being discrimanted against because they havent been in the office doing any work and everyone else has progressed.

Surely a better system would be to have 12 months (39 weeks paid) leave available and the parents get to dice it up between them.
