Why we closed teh factory on et IOW that was a major producer of them is beyond me. If we intend using them we should make them . End of story.

I'm still to be convinced wind farms are as green as they make out.
How much CO2 is created to build the things? There's a wind farm off the north Kent coast which was built some years ago, but due to land ownership problems has only just been connected to the national grid.
I think we need renewable energy schemes like this, but we also need a long hard look at how much damage they cause before they begin to give a sensible return on the investment.

What happens when it isn't windy? You need RELIABLE power!

I don't think the plan is for wind power alone. It's supplementary, like hydro-electric, wave, solar and nuclear.

If they could only perfect carbon capture. Then we could mine all the coal we need for power without worrying about supply from foreign countries. The CO2 could be piped out to sea and pumped down old oil wells.
Reliable energy and no CO2 into the atmosphere. It's the way forward until Nuclear Fusion is viable.

Is CO2 the real problem? It's only one of several so-called greenhouse gases.

Yes that damaged Gordon's green credentials.

Because we have managed to convince ourselves that if it's not labour it must be conservative, and vice versa. We only have ourselves to blame if we think we can only vote in "idiots 1" to get rid of "idiots 2".....

I would rather vote Liberal than Conservative. I expect that the tories will revert to form and cut taxes for the rich.

Well whatever gases are produced from burning coal, they could all be pumped downhole.
