I find that interesting cos the police over here recently changed their organizational structure in terms of organised crime, with units specifically targeting known gangs of all hues, rather than having separate divisions for drugs, people trafficking, car-theft rings etc. Each unit has officers that operated in specific fields - one from drugs, one from smuggling, and so on.

Anybody know the process in other UK forces?
