I suggest that Andrew Goodwin looks for a new job. The country has been in recession. Banks have not been lending to businesses which have either been forced to shut or heavily reduce operations and staff. The result: less money in circulation, ergo lower tax receipts.

This, surely, is not a surprise.

Precisely.

In the Bat Cave, we've had two outwork suppliers go on short weeks. Others have gone completely. The Bat Cave is owed money - some debts outstanding over six months or more

Strikes me economists, bankers and the government, need a spot of reality to bring them down to earth. Preferably with a very hard bump.

I am not an economist but I would agree. Far too many work for those with vested interests to say things are hunky dory and that the recession is over.
