http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... avile.htmlI knew it was linked to Liberty as it's called today, but I'd no idea those muppets were on the scene.

Are they friends with Sebastian Edathy?

Ah, you're a new reader of the Daily Mail then? It's laughable how utterly effing terrified the DM is that labour might win the next election. They've just realised what would likely happen if the bloke whose dead father they repeatedly publicly vilified gets to be prime minister. I don't particularly think Milliband would be a great PM but I'd consider voting for him simply to see exactly how big a can of whoop-ass he'd open on them.

The laws are pretty tough, on the other hand if you have 'typical' baby photos, your baby first batch etc. you won't be prosecuted, the same for young children naked on the beach in a family setting, those pictures might be embarrassing when you are older, but they aren't child pornography - if you collect photos of other people's children naked on the beach, there is probably a case to be answered.
In the Edathy case, it is alleged that he bought cds of naked children in erotic or sexual poses, but obviously only the police have seen them, so there is a lot of discussion about exactly what the police found.

The problem with the Edathy case is that it looks like somebody in the district attorney's office or the local police in his district warned him that his name had been found on a list of buyers of child poon and he was going to be searched, which is probably why they haven't found anything really incriminating yet. They are now going. to search his office.

The link itself is far more interesting to read.

It does seem that they are smearing to stop a landslide win for Labour.

Yes that I can understand, it has been happening for years, but if these are inaccurate reports then the Daily Mail could be opening themselves up to massive penalties under libel laws and the new press code of conduct. I thought that the Daily Mail was more UKIP any way now?

If they are theyd have just taken the viewpoint that the damage will have been done and take the punishment. Look for the apology on 5 down in the crossword.

It's not that simple at all. The Telegraph and Times are Tory papers but they don't seem to be engaging in this kind of smear campaign. The problem is the DM made it personal between them and Ed Milliband and now they're desperately hoping (and doing everything they can to ensure) it won't come back to violently kick them in the gentleman's area. They made the bed and they've realised they might have to sleep in it.

Imho it is actually that simple. You have the mirror and guardian spinning every stoty against the tories. The same but in opposite for the express and telegraph. What the mail is doing is what is has always done. Go for the labour leader any way it can.
