Wouldn't be surprised if this all turns out to be a load of b0llocks, but then some would say Tweed sets himself up as a candidate for false accusations anyway...

Do we really need to know the details of every sordid move these people make?

I'd be the first to say this is just the sort of thing the mainstream media would love to shove down our throats these days, but we already know Tweed's a scrote from his previous behaviour and convictions.

However, does that mean the allegations are clear cut? How many footballers and other 'stars' have been falsely accused of rape over the years? Will the mainstream press lynch him in the run-up to/during the trial? How's a jury really gonna react given the circumstances (I know all the crap about only relying on the evidence in front of you ;) ), if it comes to that?

I'll just be curious to see how it goes...

This was the first story on the news on Radio 2 this morning, with more important stories taking second place. :?:

Yes, see that's the aspect of all this that I have trouble with, it's the same mentality that has the outcome of Big Brother appearing on the BBC :x

He's famous for being the widower of a dead, racist, media saint - do keep up ;)

I believe he's also famous for being temporarily released from prison to be be married to his dying wife. IIRC, he was in prison due to being convicted for an act of violence. I know it's a little '2+2=5' but if you can be violent against one innocent person I find it more probable that otherwise that you could be violent to another innocent person...

He's yet another example where someone is a celebrity for no discernable reason other than the fact they are a celebrity. And like most of the rest of them, he seems almost entirely unworthy of the attention.

Sadly, these people have publicists behind them. I smell a Max Clifford in all of this.

Poor sod is all I can say. He's 22 and behaving like most 22 yo. He just happens to be photoraphed and reported doing it.

You're supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. The girl has a boyfriend of 3 years yet she went back to his house and was snogging him in his bedroom. What was she doing there in the first place if she had a boyfriend? Smells of 'girl screams rape to get out of admitting she's a slapper to her boyfriend''s if you ask me.

Still........ who cares? lol

Errr.. Cath.. most 22 year olds haven't already been convicted of multiple acts of violence. He's not really 'just doing what most 22 year olds do'.

Perhaps being chucked in jail twice already should have made him a bit smarter about it then.

Actually, that's entirely correct. What he has already been convicted of doing, fair enough. But the guy does deserve a fair trial over this, just like anyone else.

Cheating on him? Women do do that you know. However it is also the case that this doesn't speak to his innocence, just hers. It's been a very clear principle in law for many years that either partner has the right to say 'stop' at any point and not respecting that amounts to sexual assault.

If it is, then I hope he gets cleared - and she's a right stupid <fill in your own adjective> if so, because she's managed to lose her anonymity as a complainant in the process. I know the conviction rate for sexual assault is very low but you'd have to hope the police/CPS were at least able to spot that sort of thing before it actually got to court.

I suspect he does. Convicted rapists generally don't have an easy time in prison.

1 It's Caz not Cath and I was referring to him going out getting drunk a lot not beating people up
2 Yes I know he's been in and out of jail but were you smart when you was 21? I know I wasn't
3 Yes he deserves a trial like anyone else.
4 Yes I know people cheat. There are 2 sides to every story and the truth will hopefully come out. We don't know what happened but it is one thing after another with this lad and we're getting to hear about it all because he is in the public eye.
5 Yes it is a big deal for him but as for it being splashed all over the papers there are other things going on in the world that deserve our attention. The media prefer to publish 'celebrity' crap rather than reporting on things that actually matter *shrug*

Of course it is, I do apologise. I've always considered 'I was drunk' a pretty poor excuse TBH.

Smart enough to not get repeatedly thrown in jail? Yes, yes I was. Strangely enough, so are the vast majority of 21 year olds. Unless there's something you haven't told us, I think you might have been too.

Well fair enough but it's a bit 'chicken and the egg'. If he wasn't in the public eye we wouldn't hear about what he does but if he didn't do anything particularly newsworthy, there wouldn't be anything for the media to go on about.

Can't disagree about that.
