clicky
Quote:
an unnamed store manager from a major UK retailer said: “In the first week of downtime we did not really see any major change in sales or trades... However from the second week onwards we have seen an increase of over 200 per cent on PS3 consoles being traded in, split almost 50:50 between those trading for cash and those taking a 360 instead."

ouch!

I wouldnt trade my entire system because I couldnt get online for a couple of weeks but I could imagine a few COD-heads doing so.

Yes. But then most CoD-heads do seem to be total knobs anyway.

It really doesn't bother me, but then I'm really old-fashioned and much prefer a good single-player game to a multi-player orientated one.

That said, I did lose many hours to Left 4 Dead when it came out.

I don't play online, so it hasn't affected me in the slightest.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, I've had a few mates flog their PS3 consoles for Xboxes. If I hadn't spent so much on BR and bought so many PS3 games, I'd have gone to Xbox too.

The only multiplayer gaming I've every done was over a LAN rather than the internet (and that was 14 years ago).

I love the idea, but I only play for the odd half an hour here or there and I'm not keen on getting my arse whooped every time I go online. Some sort of system that could judge your ability and put similarly able people in a game together would be great.

Edit: Scrub that, looks like it's changed in the past few minutes. Maybe.

Edit: Edit: Maybe not.

Download the update via PC rather than PS3.

I never update straight away, I always wait for others to do the beta testing first. :D
