AFAIK they're ours but we cannot fire them without the aid of the US, I think it's their guidance systems which are under their control? I could be completely wrong on that though, I've not actually read up on it recently.

Good news imo, didn't understand the delay in the first place.

I'm all for conversional warfare but when your fighting against big sticks you need bigger sticks.

Yes but there are very few countries that would require our hitting with nuclear weapons and even then we could probably respond with aircraft and ships for most of them. So is it really necessary. I think it is the political equivalent of having a big flash car with a very small penis.

Still, we don't need libraries and schools and caring for the elderly.

I believe the missiles are theirs but the warheads are ours.

Does that mean that they will be fired but will not explode? ;)

No one will ever use nuclear weapons against another state again. Why? Because the world realpolitik means that for any state to use nuclear weapons is for that state to be destroyed.

They are, almost by definition, useless

The ultimate parcel bomb.
Let's just hope the commies don't mark it "Return to sender: no longer know at this address." ;)

The thing is nobody will use them and retaliate. I wish I could remember the link now but it had been calculated that it wouldn't take that many nukes to go off before the atmosphere would be completely destroyed and kill everything on the planet.
