I thought that she had talent but some of her songs were not that great others were excellent. It is a shame that she fell under the spell of drugs. Though with the pressures of the industry maybe she needed a way to cope. As for Pete Doherty I will not mourn his demise.

I wasn't a fan of Amy or her music, but that does not detract from the fact that it is a very sad time, both for her family and friends, and also her fans.
I hope she finds the peace that she could find in this life.

I have to admit that I knew very little about this girl. I recognised the track "Rehab" and thought yesterday how ironic that was if rumours of her cause of death are true. As an artist she never appeared on my radar. I'm apparently in the minority in this respect and probably too old.
Someone introduced this girl to drugs in her younger years. They possibly have a lot on their conscience.
I know her parents did a lot to try to help her. My condolences lie with them. Their loss is terrible and I am so sorry for them.

Genreal opinion is it was her ex-husband. And from what I've seen of him he couldn't even spell 'conscience'. Jon

Talented girl and a tragic loss for her family.
Not a big surprise though.

I figured the same Jon. Now though isn't the time or place to discuss that. Her family and those who truly loved her are hurting now.

Plenty of people can take or leave drugs. As for Amy winehouse, I think it's really sad.

The problem is that heroin is tough to get off. I am sure that you have seen people try to give up smoking again and again. Heroin is like that. If you can get through the 3 days of cold turkey you can get through it. But it is very tough to go cold turkey. I am sure that Amy fell back under the sway of drugs very easily. You need to change all your friends that you attract as an addict, and you have none of your former friends around because you are still an addict for many.

It's certainly not easy once you're under the spell, of that I'm sure.

IMO the only good song she did was Valerie..... and that was a cover. (The orignal was better.) Still, I wouldn't wish death on anyone in their twenties.

Not really her song and Mark Ronson's production has a lot to do with it too. However it does she she could belt out a tune, when she was vaguely sober. Jon
