If the UN team is working dont give them visas.

Just a thought, can a traveller be made homeless?

Only if you burn down their caravan.

This is what I don’t get. I suspect that they are using the word “traveller” as a handy headline grabbing epithet, and really what they are are itinerant workers doing their best to hide from the tax system.

Yeah that works. We expect the rest of the world to respect the UN, but when it comes to us, sod 'em.

They work to poor standards for cash, the customer has no recompense for faults and the government takes no revenue in tax.

Why are the UN even sticking their noses in? It's not as if we don't have strict laws safeguarding people's right.

Yes, I am glad the news vultures have embedded reporters on both sides.

They were saying on the TV that there are now more demonstrators than there are residents there, and it’s likely that some of those are up for a fight and not there for the cause.

Meanwhile, two muppets have concreted their hands into a barrel.

I assume the barrel is full of something like cement, right?

Take a big circular saw, chop enough of the barrel away so you can move them both out of the way without actually going as far as cutting them apart. See how clever they feel when neither of them has had the use of one hand for a few days.

There's been a legal reprieve.

What I detest is when people shout 'racism' when all that is being enforced are the laws that apply to all. If anything that is the antithesis of racism.

There is a legal site which they own, the problem is the extension to the site for which they had no permission. Removal of the habitats from the illegal site is legal, if they try to remove anybody from the legally owned site then the council would be in breach of the law. Afterall they sold that land and gave permission for that site, in actual fact it was the Council who concreted that area over.

As that is the case then those on the illegal site should abide by the laws everyone else has to.

What I never understand is when someone calls themselves a 'traveller' and yet seem to be horrified and the thought of travelling.

I think that's pretty much par for the course but what really turned me against their position was the banner they put up proclaiming what was happening to them was 'ethnic cleansing'.

[LIFTED] off. [LIFTED] right off.

Ethnic cleansing is not being told 'you built that house illegally, you have to take it down'. Ethnic cleansing is being locked in your house at gunpoint then somebody setting it on fire. Ethnic cleansing is having every male member of your family shot dead in the street in front of you. Ethnic cleansing is mass rape on the pretext that therefore any children born will be of the 'right' racial group.

Ethnic cleansing is an atrocity. They're in the middle of a piddling legal dispute. From that moment on, I couldn't give a damn what happens to them.
