Stoke Park wedding planner disciplined for email

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-be ... s-20042589

I'd be interested to know what sort of response her boss there sent at the time since she's getting 'disciplined'. And if it's the sort of place that worries about 'the wrong sort of people'...

And if anyone wants a tacky wedding or at least cheap publicity, now they know where to go!

Probably disciplined for sending the email to the customer rather than having that attitude towards them.

There's no shortage of palatial piles in that part of the world that'd be glad to take your stack of cash.
The venue absolutely has the right to refuse admission, so to speak.
Why is this even in the papers?

Because the hotel's reason for turning them away is both shameful and indefensible.

I hope the couple see the hotel in the county court.

They could certainly get some costs for rearranging the wedding and those could exceed £10000. Plus the humiliation. In business snobbery has no place. If people are willing to shell out what you are asking then you should have to accept it, or never take the booking or deposit in the first place. Most decent wedding venues could be booked up months or even years in advance.
