I would normally vote a certain way however the incumbent has been tarnish with sleaze allegations so I decided to vote for one of the lesser parties this time around.
Be interesting to see if he gets back in.

A lot of sleazebags still re-elected because their parties do not de-select them. I am hoping my local MP loses next time. He is impossible to get hold of.

Looks like the "Clown Party" is going to have the last laugh. I see LibDems came 7th in the South Shields by-election behind the BNP and only just ahead of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party

I see UKIP are bragging. What gets me is that you'd expect them to take votes from the Tories, ie voters who normally vote tory, but think they aren't taking a tough enough stand on Europe. However if they do take those votes at the next election, then there's more change of one of the other parties (okay, Labour) winning as the Tories won't get enough seats. As as far as that type of voter is concerned, that's a worse result.

Serves 'em right for voting "no" to AV then.

The Monster Raving Loony Party have more credible policies than many parties. Overall the main parties are losing credibility, and it will be a matter of time before a fringe party wins a lot of seats. The real question will be will the economy recover before the public give up on them? Since it will take 20 plus years for the debts to be paid down to sustainable levels we could be talking about Nigel Farage as PM in a few years. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

No elections in Peterborough because it's a unitary authority. This didn't stop UKIP plastering billboards in several places though.

So you have given up on the main parties and voted for a fringe party?

Before the last election he did boast that he had forced his entire family to agree to vote BNP with him. He said it was something to do with ripples on a pond. IIRC he then switched his allegiance to the Liberals. Rogers and UKIP are made in each other's image.

Voting for the BNP is a bad sign. It is their core beliefs that are of most concern. That is why I would rather vote Green than UKIP or BNP. Though I would never vote BNP no matter what.

I don't see UKIP as racist like the BNP, they just don't want to be bossed around by the EU. What they're very poor at is getting across all their other policies for running the country. The EU is all they talk about. I've no idea where they Steve on the economy, the NHS, education etc?

The problem with UKIP is the plain and simple fact that it is ignoring the rather disgraceful record this country has when dealing with foreign nations, we have invaded, pillaged, pirated and dumped our people, ideas and beliefs on many parts of the world for the best part of a millennium. Some more famous and notorious examples include the Crusades, where we helped ravage the Holy Land in the name of European Christianity. We had three attempts to get India working the way we wanted, using the co bind forces of military pressure and bureaucracy. We dumped out more miserable Christian factions on the Americas, causing no end of trouble for the indigenous population - note that they had a war to get rid of our particular form of meddling. We also dumped our more unpleasant criminals (basically the ones we didn't feel necessarily too bad to hang but ones which we felt were probably best not left to wander around this land) onto the Antipodes, again with consequences for the indigenous population. Not to mention the invention of concentration camps during the rather unpleasant altercations with the Boers. We pretty much were seen as a pirate nation during the reign of Elizabeth I by the Spanish and Portuguese because of our activities in the Caribbean. In short - we have been pretty unpleasant to the rest of world, and have imposed our culture, military and religion on other parts of the world. To then get all pent up about the unsubstantiated idea that some Bulgarians and Romanians MAY come to this country and "claim benefits" or get free NHS care (assuming it will be free next year given that it's been effectively privatised) is disingenuous at the very least. UKIP are clearly worried by this because they want as many scare stories as possible to put people off the idea of the EU. They have no evidence that this current scare story will pan out as portrayed. It seems from Farage's Channel 4 trip to Bulgaria, that very few want to come here anyway.
