I don't need a 24" mega tablet any way.

It could be an alternative to a bedroom TV to stream TV shows or movies. Shopping would be easier but it would be big and heavy to use unless you had a stand.

Ditto. I do not reply on my iPhone but it saves opening up the computer.

It's real. Just been on BBC News channel. Looks much like that photo but without the obvious screws and with different colour bracelets.

Oof, BBC News is reporting it only works with Samsung android devices. How dumb is that?

Reading that, I can see little reason why anyone would shell out that sort of cash. Especially if they gave up watches years ago and consequently look at their phone anyway

Also, charging both your phone and your watch will just be gay.

More details

200 quids! My pebble cost a fair bit less than that. And it's got a battery life of roughly a week, rather than roughly a day! This is a pretty lame duck product IMO.

Galaxy Gear comes with voice control using S Voice and a speaker, allowing users to answer phone calls by raising their hand to the ear and talking without contact with the smartphone.

I suspect that Apple registered the domains iWatch and trademarked it just to get the rest of the industry to bring out products even though they have no intention of following. More of a false flag operation to distract everyone. ;)

To be honest, I don't expect an iwatch any time soon. However I'd kind of expect it to do basic things with any Bluetooth host (even a PC) but to do more things with an iPhone. Remember Apple were perfectly happy to sell iPods to people who didn't have Macs.

Early review/first look. Sounds a fair bit better than a pebble, although the one day battery life seems a killer to me. Oh and the 'option to find your Gear via your Galaxy handset' - does it just print up "It's on your arm, dumbass"?

that was a long time ago before the wonders of the walled garden and the massive profits that the iPhone/ipad generate.
