I use Grado iGi's for my in ears and iGrado's when I remember to take them out.
Other than that I use Grado 80i's in the house but they leak too much for commuting.

My £17 Sennheiser have lasted me nearly 4 years (so far!) and sound great still.

About the same here - some relatively cheap CX300s which beat the crap out of my iphone earphones and are incredibly tangle free - still going strong.

BeatsAudio has already teamed up with Hewlett-Packard to improve the audio software and hardware of its PCs; expect Apple to hijack that technology. More interestingly, BeatsAudio has a deal with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to install “premium” sound systems in some of its vehicles. Apple has made no secret of its desire to integrate more of its technologies into cars; Beats may be just the vehicle to help realise that.

There's stuff in that paragraph that I was not aware of before the buy-out story emerged.

I had a HP Slate 7 tablet, and that had the beats audio logo on the back. It basically applied to some EQ settings for the headphone socket. It sounded ok, but it ramped up the bass a bit much IMO.

I've switched to a Nexus 7 and that sounds just as good if not better, so the benefit to the Slate 7 was questionable at best.

Potentially being bought by Apple? Suddenly remember that you have a case! ;)

Wait, what? All those incredibly well informed analysts were saying this was a done deal. Yet there's been no actual announcements of any sort from any important party yet? How is this possible?

Confirmed!

Still don't know why. Also looks like blabbing might have cost Dre and Iovine a cool $200m.

Subscription services are notoriously churn-tastic and Beats is basically a fad, so I'd love to know what else they got. Or think they got :|

The biggest deal Apple's ever made with an outside company is with a product that was designed by its first official industrial designer.
