There's no point in me re-stating my opinion, but I'm equally not gonna throw things at people. I just think it's a shame you've missed the point. Oh well.

For someone who was just commenting on someone being arrogant, that statement is staggeringly hypocritical.

I don't know, but judging by Edd's last ping, someone missed the frying pan.

You tell me Mark. I was referring primarily to Caz. You've not even seen it, so I don't suppose you could have missed the point. Although, when you say this

In Hollywood you're only as good as your last show/film.

you're perhaps not aware of Generation Kill?

My original point was that a certain level of ability grants a certain level of arrogance IMHO i.e. The creator of Neighbours saying the same thing would have less credibility doing so. As the guy is clearly very gifted, that allows him some scope to be a little arrogant IMO. Perhaps you disagree?

Bollocks (to the initial point raised), the most most successful series largely come from America where it's all heavily advertiser funded and set up around these breaks. This creates more money to produce higher quality shows. Also it's worth noting that 92% of PVR owners (Sky Plus or Virgin) fast forward the ads anyway so there's no need for false suspense.

Aware of but never seen it.
I do understand where you are coming from when you say his talent affords him a certain amount of arrogance, but what he's complaining about is the thing that afforded him that arrogance in the first place, so it's all a bit of a catch 22 situation.
Biting the hand that feeds you is a very risky business, and Hollywood has a long memory for stuff like that.
I just hope he hasn't shot himself in the foot.

Right. I see where you're coming from. Personally, I'm not worried about that, because it looks like HBO would employ him for some time to come and they agree with him, that'll probably be fine.

Didn't mean to cause any upset Caz. You are, of course, completely free to have an opinion. I just think that if that's the way you feel about The Wire, and in particular the final season, you've missed the point of the show.

As for the ping gag, I'm not nearly as much of a geek as you and Mark!
