Hmm, the second video just hangs at the end of the panda advert... :?

I had a friend, she used to text while driving, swerving all over the place - with 4 kids and the nanny in the car!

I'll check an SMS if I am sitting in traffic, otherwise it can wait.

What really annoys me is a car with 2 or more people in it and the driver is using the telephone! If they have to make important calls, they should let the passenger drive, or if the calls aren't personal, the passenger can answer the 'phone!

That'll happen sometimes when I'm driving with someone and I've forgotten the BT headset.
Ta-da! You're no longer just a passenger, but my in car receptionist.

Yep, done that. It can be very confusing for everyone involved

A nicely graphic film to show why texting and driving should never mix.

That's the same video that started the thread; although maybe Big D can watch that one without the player being crashed by random pandas!

I love the crunch when the blonde girl's neck snaps. I wonder if they got that from a sound library, or did it themselves. It sounds a little like twisting bubble-wrap.

Perhaps they got a volunteer, and snapped their neck in order to record the sound??? :P

Apparently, the sound of a good punch is often reproduced by thumping a slab of meat. I guess a dead pig would be easier to convince than even a quite stupid person.

And once again A JW comment makes me reel in terror....

It always suprises me that people need to be told stuff like 'dont text and drive'. Anyone who thinks they can drive to 100% of their ability whilst texting is an idiot. If my phone rings in the car I pass it to the missus. If i'm on my own I leave it ringing until I come to a stop and can put in the hands free before continuing (I dont have it in all the time, it annoys me). If I hear the text tone I dont even look at the phone. I'm not trying to be a saint or anything, I just dont fancy crashing my car, bumping someone else, running some over, etc etc.

I can't text and drive with iPhone, I can barely walk along the road with it and text. I wait until I'm stationary if I have to text someone. Same with making calls. It's incrediby annoying to see so many people ignoring the law and driving while on the phone.

I saw someone in town today, walking and texting and very nearly flattened by a truck because she wasn't looking. I don't think she even realised she was crossing a road :?

I tend to make a point of being in the way of people like that. ;)

I used to be quite a militant cyclist round town. As I'm also a driver, I'm acutely aware of my surroundings on a bike, so would always know if someone was about to step out in front of me.

I once could see a couple crossing a 4 lane road up ahead; he was texting. She crossed first and could see me heading towards him at about 15mph. She was shouting "Mike, Mike" to warn him.....but he remained oblivious. I think I managed to get within about 3 feet of him before screaming WATCH OUT! about as loud as I could.

My other half hates me for being like that, but my reasoning is they're much more likely to not do it again if I scare the crap out of them 8-)

I never use my 'phone whilst driving not only because I'm worried about killing anyone else, but also because I don't want my kids growing up without a dad...
