The difference is people will start calling it by the name only (assuming the line doesn't get dropped altogether). Cadbury is just the name of the manufacturer. Mark

Maybe in a few years' time we could redo the great chocolate poll and see if anyone still likes the same stuff?

I suspect they're going to strip Cadbury's assets and make everything - including recipes - as cheap as possible. Cadbury's chocolate will be ruined. RUINED.

It already is ruined. Cadbury's is a detention camp where cocoa beans of inferior genetic purity are culled from the gene pool in order to raise the quality of the rest of the population. I fail to see what the Kraft effect will aside from to make the risibility apparent to all.

This is another part of the slow but sure US invasion of the UK. It’s not a military offensive, but a cultural one, lead by TV/Film, as well as food outlets.

Hasn't this got to be approved by share holders before it happens?

Yes but it's widely reported that this will just be a formality.

I reckon the name will eventually vanish. Remember Rowntree? Bought by Nestlé the name was used for a while, and then dropped. We have lost so many names to Johnny Forigner’s empire building. We’ve lost Abbey, Bradford and Bingley and other to Santander recently. Rebranding to the paranet company’s name is beneficial as it cuts costs and spreads the parent brand about more.
Very soon, your favourite Cadbury products will be coming from Kraft...

I'll not miss that Phil Collins track, but I could always watch that advert with the sound off and it'd never fail to make me smile. Mark
