And one more; base model MacBook is $999 in the US, base model iPad is $499. In the uk, base model MacBook is £816, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the entry level iPad at around half that price; £399 anyone?? Still, we'll know for sure in a few weeks. Cheers, Pete

Well I rang Apple tonight and the staff have no idea of when it is coming out here, or the price. I am giving it thought. I think that I will want to see on in the flesh before I buy one.

This is one thing that does surprise me actually - You'd think there'd be demo units in the Apple shops by now, maybe glued into docking stations but nevertheless. Jon

I would like to see UK prices before I buy. One thing that I will use it for is placing pdf manuals on if I can. With the colours it and size it will be very handy for keeping all the manuals I want at hand. So until I have answers to these i will just wait. The US Apple site is now taking pre orders.
