I actually
am a Jedi according to the last census....albeit not a particularly observant one. I don't celebrate too heavily on 4th May for example, but I do wear my hood(y) every day to work
My initial conversion to the ways of the force was more a means of pointing out to the authorities that I don't want them knowing my beliefs, especially when (a) beliefs can be transient or temporary, and (b) why the hell do they NEED to know? Every job application since then that asks me my religion/sexual orientation/gender, I always enter "decline to state". Although they're getting tougher on this now. I applied for a job at Camborne College a year ago, which listed about half a dozen religions, with no "other" option. Having phoned up to complain, I found out that they only have to record it for Govt stats anyway and they always ignore that page.....so I left it blank.
