I only replaced my CRT Sony WEGA last year, because it didn't fit in the new living room... It has gone to a good home though, a young couple just starting out and in need of a TV.
I paid about 600 quid for my Panasonic 32" 1080p TV, but it includes built in DVB-S2 and DVB-T tuners, so free satellite and digital terrestrial TV on it.

I am looking to replace the bedroom one so 32" is fine and I do not know if I want free sat yet, so will probably have to get a box of some kind at a later date. Though having it built in is a good idea.

I'll save for a few years and get an OLED TV with Freeview HD. That should keep me going for a decade or so.

It might be but I do not have a HD TV in the house and the main TV is still only 5 years old.

I've got a 37" TV in my bedroom, as for the sort of money I was paying for it, I could have got a 42" only I didn't have the space And the room's almost certainly smaller than Amnesia's - I'm nearly the friggin' length of it

In my bedroom the 32" LCD will be replacing a 32" Widescreen CRT. So will take up less space than before.

By then, quantum dot screens will probably be just around the corner and OLED will be old news
