It's not often I'd stick up for a company (and especially not BP), but the smoke and mirrors around this issue really is shameful, as others here have pointed out.

No Agenda have been going on about how the Gulf spill in 73(?) was worse than this one... It seems Americans have very short memories.

And the company responsible for that accident is also responsible for the BP one as well. Just a new name but same company.
