I bought a BR capable drive, after my DVD writer died last month.

I had no plans to buy any BR movies, but the Band of Brothers box set was going for £20. I love the series, and already had it on DVD but a borrower returned it with two discs missing! I don't lend out my films anymore.

Anyway, getting back to my point. BR is nice for super detailed films and such but, in places, the extra clarity made some scenes in BoB look almost unfinished. With that in mind I do wonder about these remastered films, and the Alien screenies don't look all that special - almost looks like the DVD stills have been degraded to show a greater contrast between the two formats.
