The comparison of a used game with a second hand car which is not up to certain functions is bizarre. If a car was unable to do things within six months it would be recalled, and you would get a full refund. I have no problem with not being able to use online features on a used game but then I would be crap at multiplayer games anyway. Though crippling the games so that the single player version was unplayable is insulting to the consumer.

Hmm

If I get a game used I'm usually more inclined to buy DLC, and that money does go to them

Mind carrot>stick any time, Valve do it with tf2 very well
