But normally you wouldn't even think of chatting up other women if your relationship wasn't [LIFTED] anyway surely, except if you're a " player" :s

If your relationship is messed up to the point that you are actively pursuing other people then you shouldn't be in it! How insecure must you be as an individual to stay in a bad relationship, deceiving your partner, until your new partner is ready, rather than be alone until you meet someone new?

This article takes the point that by advertising to men that their partner may have a man-in-waiting, the man will suddenly feel the need to take the bins out and buy her flowers more regularly. Sod that! If you're in a relationship where you can't ask your partner to take the bins out or buy you flowers then it's the wrong one!

The point is that it's not about empowering women in relationships, nor is it about empowering men in relationships, it's about insidious control games by people who either don't know what they want or are too afraid to go out and get it.

What she said. Games do not belong in a mature adult relationship, whether romantic or otherwise. Honesty is the key even if it can be painful.
