I just finished it on iPlayer. What a load of [LIFTED]. Dave says he get back to Nick's policies, but never does and all we learn is that politicians are all the same. As already mentioned, Greer is the only one to acquit herself well. I suppose it's good to see people interested in politics, but hardly anyone in that audience was level-headed enough to engage in a decent debate and you could see that the "mainstream" politicians were just angered to have to share the panel with Nick.
I'm disappointed and underwhelmed. But then, I should've expected that given the current state of British politics/culture/society etc.

I am very anti BNP but the politicians need to address many of the issues that encourage support for the BNP. Housing and jobs are big issues for many people and these have not been addressed adequately by the main parties. That is why there have been protest votes in support of the BNP. Deal with the issues and the BNP will fade away.

I was surprised the real issues behind the rise of the BNP were brought up and not edited out, but they missed one big one, the fact that out current government have been telling us for the past 8 years or so how much risk we are at by a group of people who happen to be muslims and who are 'terrorists' and then act all surprised when some of the people who were gullible enough to vote Labour back in are now supporting the BNP who want to take decisive action on these 'dangerous Muslims'.

All good fear politics, allowing extreme views to pander to the lower side of the general population.
Didn't we have documentaries on TV about a year ago, showing how even stopping jobless UK people outside a job centre and offering them farm work for £7 an hour wouldn't get them interested? And that we had...prior to the recession...500,000 jobs unfulfilled in the UK because UK people didn't want them? And only recently, figures showing that the majority of migrant workers were in privately rented accomodation, not social housing? But of course it's more helpful to suggest that immigrants take all our jobs and our council houses. You could just about understand that in a recession, the unfulfilled jobs will go down. But as I understand it, the level of immigrants is also going down as they head back to Europe, so even more jobs for British workers!
But of course, information like that doesn't sell newspapers or make viewing figures for Sky/ITN....so it's better to set up those who haven't got a voice, ie. the immigrants who look after our elderly, pick our cauliflowers etc. I mean, look at them! They can't even speak English properly yet, they must not care for our country!
The good old BNP are managing to jump on a bandwagon that we created by wanting more and more sensationalist news. Like most political parties, they hang about the wings like vultures, waiting to see the prevailing opinions in the Daily Mail columns, then grabbing hold and making it their own.
Every time I hear of someone complaining how we are losing our Britishness, I ask them where their hat is. After all, not even 40 years ago it was de rigeur for all gentlemen to wear hats, and was seen as the proper thing to do. I complain that it's disgusting how nobody wears hats any more, and how dare we lose that essence of Britishness! We managed to drop that vestige of Britishness without too much pain, and I see no problem with Britishness now equating to Baltis, Mosques/temples/churches, and an atmosphere in which all play a part in enjoying life. We worry so much about the past we forget that Britain will change no matter how much we fear it. And it's how we deal with that change that makes us unique in the rest of the world.

Finally got round to watching about twenty minutes of this in five minute chunks, I had to keep stopping because of the audience whooping like it was Oprah or Jerry Springer, shocking.
