 | | | | Quote: Man With Possible Ties To Tamerlan Tsarnaev Shot, Killed By FBI Agent In Orlando, Fla. May 22, 2013 6:47 AM ORLANDO, Fla. (CBS) — A Federal Bureau of Investigation agent has shot and killed a man who may have had ties to the Boston Marathon bombings.
The FBI confirms to CBS affiliate WKMG that a special agent was conducting “official duties” when he shot and killed a man.
CBS News correspondent John Miller, a former FBI assistant director, says Ibrahim Todashev was “someone (the agency was) looking at in connection with Tamerlan (Tsarnaev), based on contacts they had.”
On CBS This Morning, Miller said Todashev was being questioned by FBI agents because he had been in contact with Tamerlan Tsarnaev prior to the bombing, had been to Boston to visit Tsarnaev and had a trip planned to Chechnya.
Miller reports at some point while FBI agents were questioning the man in his apartment, there was an altercation.
Stay with CBS Boston for the latest.

You have to wonder, first of all, why they didn't just call him in/arrest him if they intended to question him. Secondly, how badly did they mess up in his house?!

I think that they could be in trouble if they arrest someone without reason. Interestingly the FBI never record interviews and it is down to officers writing their reports later. Apparently the man was a mixed martial arts fighter and had a history of aggression so really they should have been better prepared.

All the more reason to arrest him on suspicion of whatever rather than conduct an 'interview' in his own place, then start putting out stories.

I do not think that the FBI have had a problem in the past with dodgy recollections in court to the extent that we have. Though with a MMA fighter wouldn't they at least have tasers just in case?
