And yes people chipping consoles for personal gain is clearly against the law, but I don't recall saying it wasn't. I merely stated that home/end users are not subject to those provisions.

I didn't either, it was actually to point out there is no way of doing this for a PS3 so it's a moot arguement given the copy protection in Blu-Ray media which prevents this

And I would say 99% of chipped consoles are for personal gain, potentially 1% for playing imported games (Probably less now given that the PS3 BR games are region free, as are the DS and a lot of 360 games are too)

I hope that lawsuit goes ahead. It will give MS and the games publishers a nice full list of people who are most probably pirates and very stupid

They have no chance of winning unless their console genuinely isn't modded.

Live is a service, like PSN or the wii service, you pay to use the service, its not a right of owning the console (hence the agreement to agree to to use the service)

You (the person who was banned) broke the contract so was banned

Simples.

Lawsuits? In my MS?

That's about as pointless as a chocolate fireguard. They will sue MS, then MS will use Countersue x2 and gain +1 profits. :D
