It might be because he has been there forever and is probably a decent enough manager though not sure who coordinates development overall because they seem to be stuck for ideas. The patch process was clearly flawed. If there were games with flaws which could not be patched then the public would lose interest in the game. For a small publisher that could be fatal. So it is getting more sensible. For Microsoft it also meant that games would be flawed for longer and overall if there were a number of games with such flaws it would look bad for the console itself.

Ad execs! It does look like an advert for the PS 4! How long before we get websites listing the reasons not to get the XBox One-eighty and reasons to get the PS 4. The fact that the Kinect will scan for who is in the room and offer adverts accordingly is a great reason to avoid the new console altogether. If you have a free XBox Live account then you should probably accept ads will be required. If you pay for it though I would not accept ads on top. What next, it will make sure that you are in the room for ads to play. If you walk out to put the kettle on will it pause so you do not miss a second of the ad?
