No - it was like that on the BBC footage. It’s an interesting example of what Orwell referred to as “the neat writing of the illiterate”.

Update: I’m not sure what these are: Maybe they’ll be kicking off late this week or early next week then. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-15153060

All the local car parks and supermarkets had extra security today.

It's quite clever actually. All your anti-establishment rentaprotesters are on the horns of dilemma - do you go to Dale Farm, or do you goto Manchester to cause a ruckus outside the Tory Conference?

Good. As I've said before: Everyone else has to follow the law, why should they be exempt.

They're planning to appeal again . At this point they're just throwing money at lawyers, they're dreaming if they think they can win. Plus they have to wait a week before they can get another injunction and in that week there's no-one stopping the council enforcing the original order. By the time they can appeal most of them will have had to find new places to live anyway. Jon

Why are they even allowed to appeal again and again and again? Surely there is a limit?

You can appeal to each level of court (County, High and Supreme) and then you can appeal differnt point of law If you have lots of money then you can drag a case out for a long time e.g Appeal "point A" through the varoius levels - if that fails then do the same with Point B and so on

You should be made to appeal all points of law at the same time. Dragging it out is an abuse that the courts should not tolerate.

Whilst a good idea in theory it could result in someone not being able to appeal a point of law that they genuinly missed the 1st time around

Obvious question - who is funding the lawyers? I doubt it's them - they patently aren't that rich. Is it some political pressure group? Is it the taxpayer through legal aid? Exactly what is the deal here?
