£10 more per game? They're expensive enough as it is.

They are. Console games are already low on my list of priorities and £60 games will definitely put me off. I will stick to desktop and mobile games instead.

Microsoft will continue to support Xbox 360 for three years

Xbox One may be sold at a profit from day one

I'd say quite a bit of profit, Kinnect or not, once you include Live and whatever else.

Xbox One: Demos not mandatory for digital titles

Was it Ouya that had a demo clause? I barely buy anything I haven't tested now, and indie games are the worst for being overrated.

That does help those who buy the first consoles. But why preorder such a console when you have no idea if there will be any games that appeal to you? I am picky with games so that explains my reluctance. Though others who play loads of games might not feel it is such a risk.

Will either of these consoles support 4k gaming as the TV's will be available in the consoles lifetime?

Depends what you mean. will both consoles be able to render and output a 4K picture of a game of some sort? Yes. Will they be able to output the same level of details (e.g. the same number of textured polygons etc) at 4K as they do at 'standard' 1080P? Absolutely not.

They might still be worth having provided you don't go for a huge TV. 4k on a 32"TV is n't going to look too different from your sofa than a 1080p screen.

MS offers Xbox 360 to Xbox One game trade-ins for $10

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/42 ... ns-for-10/

The question is what will MS do with the games...
...

Microsoft to enable Xbox One digital game trading 'when the time is right'

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/42 ... -is-right/

Lol, I love that they're trying to lump that in with the 'family sharing'. The awful situation of used games where so little money goes to the developers and publishers is actually something MS would like to profit from, never mind that it's a digital copy with next to zero costs after it's release (patches are nobody's fault but the makers)

The article mentions prices from £49.99 to £54.99.

Quote:
Prices range from £49.99 for games such as Capcom's Dead Rising, Bungie's Destiny and Respawn's TitanFall, to £54.99 for FIFA 14, Ubisoft's Watch Dogs and UFC.

Nintendo could be on a 'path to irrelevance', says Atari founder

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/42 ... i-founder/

The home console market's going nowhere, and the handhelds might actually sell if they weren't stupidly priced and had good games. On that front:

Sony announces PS Vita TV microconsole

...

And, er

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/42 ... announced/

The TV may just be a stroke of genius if they bother to market it in Europe

Won't this be irrelevant as many smartphones can use TV apps so making this irrelevant in an portable game console?

MS surprised by 'how negative' reaction was to Xbox One DRM

Lol, any wonder things are going wrong when your director of product planning thinks discs are gonna shuffle off anytime soon
