I wonder if it was a honey jar, or perhaps marmalade?

Poor thing. I knew about wildlife getting trapped in the plastic rings that bind 4 packs of beer so I always slit those before throwing away. Luckily there aren't many bears around the local tip, so I guess we don't have to worry so much about big jars.

I do the same. I must confess that I do not buy too many packs of beer that come with plastic binding rings. Though I try to be conscious of the impact of what I throw away.
