Sounds like a cool idea, I think it may have less restrictions than the Apple App store for developers, though I've heard that from the start, apps will only be free (later you'll be able to charge).
Products I've heard of so far include a Twitter app and a movie/DVD editing suite which looked quite cool, being able to publish to the desktop, web and iPod.
